This will come as no surprise because I know that you’ve felt it too. The online business game is evolving. Fast. And those who keep up with the changes are going to reap the rewards.
In this post I will not be gatekeeping. I want to give you my hot take on what it’s going to take for online business success in 2024.

MY 6 PREDICTIONS FOR ONLINE BUSINESS SUCCESS IN 2024
Desire led and uplifting marketing will be king
Pain point marketing isn’t going to work the way it used to. This used to be the number one way to convert people, but it can also leave people feeling like sh*t. Needling at people’s pain and discomfort to get them to make a purchasing decision or to “resonate” is going to start to give people the ick.
My prediction: We are going to start to see greater conversions with desire led and uplifting marketing strategies. And the buyers we attract using these methods are going to be more empowered and see better results.
2. Building connection and trust with our audience will extend beyond short form content
People are craving depth of connection, intimacy and trust with the people they choose to purchase from. As the number of “touch points” people need to have with your brand before they purchase increases, creating content that allows for connection and trust will be what sets you apart.
My prediction: Using short form platforms like Instagram and TikTok is great. But the strategy that we are really going to need to implement is using our short from platforms to push people to our long form platforms where we really go deep with trust and connection (like emails, podcasts and YouTube).
3. Solid business foundations will be a must
Posting to social media and calling that a business isn’t going to work like it used to back in the day. So many business owner skip over the foundations like branding, messaging, buyer journeys and automations because they seem boring, hard, or like something they don’t need to do immediately.
My prediction: Not having solid business foundations in place will hold you back. The businesses that excel in 2024 will lay and springboard off their rock-solid foundations. They’ll be able to grow and scale because they have something solid to stand on.
4. Shorter sales pages with solution focused messaging will convert
Long form sales pages definitely have a place and serve a purpose. Historically, when curated and designed correctly, they have been top converters and an essential part of the sales and marketing process. But as attention spans get shorter and people have a tendency to scan instead of read everything, I believe there’s room to experiment with shorter sales pages that have bang on messaging and design.
This coupled with my prediction of a move toward more desire led messaging will pave the way for a new sales page formula to work in 2024.
My prediction: Shorter sales page with more solution focused messaging will convert higher than the traditional long form sales page that spends a good chunk of time poking at people’s pain points. And these purchasers are going to be more discerning and empowered.
5. Profit over revenue
This one might seem like a no brainer. But you just have to take a scroll through Instagram and TikTok to be bombarded with everyone flashing their revenue to see that potentially what business owners have been focusing on is due to change. Scale and higher revenue at all costs has seemed to be the mantra for so long, but I think entrepreneurs are starting to realise they have it all backwards.
My prediction: Entrepreneurs gearing up their businesses for higher profit, even if that means less revenue. The real flex is going to become profit…and we’ll be wanting to see receipts.
6. Personalised automation
Automation is here to stay. The rise of ManyChat is proof of that. But what I think consumers are going to get sick of are automations that make you feel like you’re just a number and like nobody has taken a second to get to know you.
My prediction: Automations will continue to form a crucial role in sales and marketing in 2024. But the entrepreneurs who are going to win with automations are those who make the whole experience personalised and intimate - think personalised videos, intimate questions, and automations where the business owner actually takes the time to jump into the conversation and give a personal touch.
